Back in 1989, Dave Fortney had two sons playing little league baseball.

One afternoon, one son came home from practice with a hat so dirty, he wouldn’t be able to wear it for the big championship game that weekend. Dave decided that instead of buying a new one, he would come up with a way to wash it and, hopefully, not ruin it like all the other hats he had tried to wash. He grabbed a few metal coat hangers, went out into the garage, and a couple of hours later, came in with the first working prototype of the Ballcap Buddy™ cap washer.
